The McDonald Foundation('Foundation' -'McDF') was founded in 1985 as the fund-raising arm of The McDonald College (‘McDC’) and The McDonald Performing Arts College (‘McPAC’).

The Foundation’s goal is to raise funds to support the endeavours of The McDonald College in building confidence in our youth through creative expression and skills development, and through the provision of scholarships and bursaries for gifted performing and visual arts students, and well as talented performing and visual arts students who face economic disadvantage.

In addition, the foundation performs the important role of trustee of The McDonald Foundation Cultural Trust.

The McDonald Foundationhas charity and Deductible Gift Recipient status (No 474159) and is eligible to receive tax-deductible donations in accordance with Division 30 of Australia’s Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

The Foundation assists disadvantaged students with bursaries to attend The McDonald College and/or the McDonald Performing Arts College and pursue their dreams so they can develop their talents, both academically and artistically, to be the best they can be.

The Foundation produces various fundraising events throughout the year including an gala dinners, cocktail evenings, breakfasts, performances by the student body, and special dinners with the Principal, Maxine Kohler, successful alumni and special guests. Mounting these fundraising events requires the support of the College community and the community at large to achieve success, for which the Governing Board, faculty and students are sincerely thankful.
