There is no other school in Australia like The McDonald College. Our students love coming to school as they study their academic curriculum integrated with excellence in performing arts. Our unique timetable together with the motivation provided by studying dance, ballet, acting, music or musical theatre every day stimulates our students to achieve in all areas of their life.

Our environment is supportive and nurturing of creativity enabling us to graduate students that are lateral thinkers and excited about life beyond school. Whether their chosen career is on the stage as a performer or in the world of medicine, law or global business, our students are confident communicators, distinguished leaders and diverse role models.

My history with the College

I was an original first signatory on the Memorandum and Articles of Association when The McDonald College Limited was formed in 1983, and I have been a member of the College Council since that time.

Coming from a performing arts background, I have been fortunate to combine this passion with a determination to ensure that performing artists have every opportunity to nurture their talents whilst achieving the highest academic education that they are capable of. The philosophy of the College is for our students to follow their passion whilst keeping their options open for that which lies beyond their school days.

In 2003, I completed my Master of Education whilst holding the position of Deputy Principal of Performing Arts and I was honoured to accept the position of Principal in 2005 upon the retirement of our Founding Principal, Mrs. Margaret Markham.

I believe the values and discipline taught through the performing arts together with a rigorous academic education in an environment that inspires and encourages creativity and diversity is essential for our young adults of the 21st century.

If you would like to take a tour of the College with me, please see here for more information.
