Technical Production

Technical Production is offered as an elective in Years 7 – 9 and as a stream in Years 10 – 12.

This stream will appeal to students who have a passion for the performing arts and the entertainment industry, as well as a fascination with backstage technical artistry.

You will have an interest in the theatrical design, digital, technical and operational aspects of

  • lighting
  • sound engineering
  • stage management and
  • other facets of production, such as planning, rigging, seating systems, and maintenance.

What you will learn

In this stream, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of end-to-end processes across the full spectrum of performing arts streams offered at the College.

You will have the opportunity to assist with the technical production of on-campus rehearsals, live productions, and recording sessions.

Students will develop confidence and initiative, honing their interpersonal communication and creative problem-solving skills while learning to be effective team players.

  • AV and event designer and producer
  • AV and event manager
  • Lighting designer or programmer
  • Sound engineer
  • Theatre technician
  • Live event equipment hire, staging and operational roles
  • Film, video and TV technical production
  • Studio operator

*Further qualifications and experience will be required beyond school.
