Principal Artist at Queensland Ballet, Alexander Idaszak
Alexander Idaszak joined the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne after graduating from The McDonald College. He completed a Diploma in Dance and a Vocational Graduate Certificate in Classical Ballet.
Alexander joined Queensland Ballet as a Company Dancer in 2013. He then spent a year with the Royal New Zealand Ballet in 2014 before returning to Queensland Ballet, where he was promoted to Demi-Soloist in 2016, Soloist in 2017, Senior Soloist in 2019 and Principal Artist in 2024.
In 2016, Alexander was awarded the Queensland Ballet’s Khitercs Hirai International Scholarship for professional development travel. During an overseas study tour, he took classes with companies such as The Royal Ballet, English National Ballet, Staatsoper Berlin, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Scottish Ballet and Dutch National Ballet.
Alexander’s repertoire highlights include the The Prince in The Nutcracker, Albrecht in Giselle, Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Solor in La Bayadère, The Prince in Cinderella, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, Young/Old Count Dracula in Dracula and Prince Desire in Greg Horsman’s The Sleeping Beauty
