Taking on the world stage

It’s been a very big year for Henry Burgess! Starting with his participation at the Prix de Lausanne, Switzerland in January, Henry was soon offered a place at the Royal Ballet School, London, which has become his new home in Term 3.

He was also successful at the RAD Isobel Anderson Awards in March and recently performed the principal roles of Prince Siegfried and Benno in our full-length production of Swan Lake. The following day, Henry did an outstanding performance at the Sydney Opera House to win the coveted Sydney Eisteddfod Ballet Scholarship. Valued at $18,000, Henry was also offered a professional development opportunity with the Houston Ballet!

We wish Henry all the very best for a successful start to his ballet training at The Royal Ballet School in London.

Oriel Santoso also had a very exciting move, now with the Palucca University for Dance, in Dresden Germany. Oriel successfully applied for a place in their BA Dance Programme and commenced her three year course with them this month. Here at the College, she finished on a high, dancing the principal role of Odile in Swan Lake, Oriel is ready to take flight! Chookas Oriel!
