Reflecting on Term 3, 2026
Term 3 is always a busy and vibrant time in the life of the College, filled with performances, competitions, examinations and many opportunities for our students to shine. As you read this edition of Reflections, you will see the remarkable breadth of experiences, achievements and contributions that have made this term memorable.
Behind every student success is a network of support, and I take this opportunity to thank our parents and families for the encouragement, commitment and care you provide throughout the term. Whether it is attending performances, supporting study and training commitments, helping with logistics, or simply being there to cheer our students on, your partnership with the College is deeply valued and greatly appreciated. Thank you for the important role you play in helping our young people thrive.
Term 3 began with the outstanding ballet production of Sleeping Beauty and continued with a busy period that included the HSC Trial Examinations, HSC Practical Examinations and the Art and Design Show. These events provided wonderful opportunities for our students to demonstrate their talents, commitment and perseverance.
I congratulate all students and staff involved in the success of Sleeping Beauty and the Art and Design Show. Their efforts resulted in productions of exceptional quality. I am particularly pleased to acknowledge the many HSC nominations, which recognise exemplary performances in the HSC Practical Examinations:
| Subject | Nominations |
|---|---|
| HSC Drama | 23 nominations (across multiple categories) |
| HSC Music | 4 nominations |
| HSC Dance | 15 nominations (across multiple categories) |
| HSC Design and Technology | 2 nominations |
A particular mention must be given to Max, who achieved nominations across all four subjects (seven nominations in total).
Our Tennis program has continued its tradition of excellence, with the Boys’ Team crowned NSW High School Champions and the Girls’ Team achieving a fourth-place finish in the state.
In Performing Arts, eight of our music students participated in the HICES Music Camp, culminating in a spectacular performance at Sydney Town Hall alongside more than 400 students from independent schools across NSW. Their talent and participation were proudly displayed on this prestigious stage.
Our High Performance Season, featuring Starburst, Junior Showcase, Senior Showcase and DANCE+, celebrated the extraordinary talent, creativity and dedication of staff and students from Kindergarten to Year 12, as well as those enrolled in our After-Hours School. Night after night, audiences were inspired by performances of exceptional quality that highlighted the depth and diversity of talent within our College community.
The term concluded with a program celebrating significant milestones for our Year 12 students as they completed their 13 years of schooling and graduated from the College. Their final week was marked by a number of memorable events and traditions, including:
- Senior Showcase
- A cameo performance for some students in Starburst
- A day at Jamberoo
- Graduation Breakfast with parents and staff
- Graduation Assembly
- Year 11 Luncheon for Year 12
- Graduation Ball
The following pages of Reflections provide a glimpse into the rich and diverse opportunities our students experienced throughout Term 3. I hope you enjoy celebrating these achievements with me.
