Junior Stream

The junior stream spent Term 3 developing their showcase performances under the guidance of three exceptional industry professionals — Emma Lee Lansley on Jet Set, Veronica Beattie George on Another Op’nin, Another Show, and Portia England on their tap number Dancin’ Fool. Each artist brought a rigorous, storytelling-centred approach that demanded the integration of acting, singing, and dance at a professional standard. The students rose to this challenge with maturity and enthusiasm, producing polished, high-energy work that shone on the night. Performing at NIDA was an invaluable extension of their learning. Navigating microphones, a large auditorium, and full production elements offered a rare, real-world experience that they clearly valued. Their commitment throughout the process and their spectacular execution in performance demonstrated significant growth across all three disciplines.

Senior Stream

The senior stream worked at an equally high level, collaborating with Emma Lee Lansley on Hot Lunch Jam, Portia England on Nobody, and BJ Rourke on 96,000. Their ability to shift seamlessly between contrasting styles and genres within the musical theatre canon was evident in every rehearsal and performance. Our work together on You Will Be Found further deepened their understanding of how to support vocal production through energetic movement, while also cultivating ensemble blend, unity, and emotional atmosphere. The Year 12 cohort demonstrated extraordinary resilience balancing HSC exams, trial assessments, and multiple performance commitments while maintaining professionalism, generosity, and an unwavering work ethic. They excelled across all numbers and set a powerful example for the entire department. I wish them every success as they step into their next chapter, and I am confident you will see them thriving in the industry in the years ahead.
