Senior’s Leadership Conference

Ms Jasmin Douglas took the Prefects to the Secondary Youth Leadership Conference in early March at Randwick Racecourse.

Run by youth, for youth, the conference which is run annually is designed to inspire, strengthen and empower our future leaders. It’s an action-packed one-day event consisting of internationally-recognised speakers and team activities that focus on four key areas of immense importance for today’s young people.

These areas include an empowered, positive approach to leadership, creative ways to undertake teamwork, communication and coaching skills, and an opportunity to hear from successful entrepreneurs on how the pathway to creating a successful business can be achieved.

The students listened to guest speakers such as Ronni Kahn (Oz Harvest) and Mitch Wallis (formerly Microsoft, currently Heart on my Sleeve).

The Prefects had a wonderful day listening to the guest speakers, winning dance offs, engaging in questioning and mingling with other student leaders from all over Sydney.

A particular highlight was when Keanu Awad was gifted a spoon from Ronni Kahn as part of a metaphor for helping others.
