Dux Micheal Zhang accepted into Harvard

Congratulations to 2019 College Captain and Dux, Micheal Zhang, for being accepted into Harvard University’s Class of 2024. Last year, Micheal scored a perfect SAT score of 1600/1600, which is only achieved by 300 students out of two million students on average. Every year, only 5-10 students from Oceania (Polynesia, Micronesia, Australasia and Melanesia) are accepted in Harvard, making this a rare and wonderful milestone.

Micheal was also accepted into the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, Emory University, Vanderbilt University, University of Minnesota, Fordham University and New York University. He is yet to decide which university path he will take. When asked about the achievement, the Zhang family said that the College had been “fundamental” in his growth.

Throughout the past three years, Micheal has grown immeasurably, not just academically or athletically, but most importantly as a person, due to the nurturing and mentorship that his time at The McDonald College has afforded him.

Continued: “We cannot be more grateful and appreciative of Micheal’s time at The McDonald College, which no doubt played a fundamental role in his admission. It has been such a joy to watch him flourish at the College, and we count ourselves so lucky to be a part of this irreplaceable school community.”

We wish Micheal and his family all the best with his future endeavours.
