Q: Does McDonald College have scholarships for enrolled students?

We offer the Ann McDonald Scholarships, in honour of the founder of The Ann McDonald College of Dancing – where our story began; and the mother of Margaret Markham, our founding Principal. Enrolled students are eligible to compete for these prestigious awards across three Year Levels: Years 3 – 5, Years 6 – 8 and Years 9 – 11 in five performing arts streams of Acting, Classical Ballet, Dance, Music, and Musical Theatre. Work ethic, behaviour and citizenship are considered.

Q: Does a dux get a fee discount at McDonald College?

The McDonald College Dux of Years 6, 8 and 10 are each eligible for a fixed sum academic scholarship based on overall academic results and achievements. The College uses assessment and examination results, and other criteria as deemed appropriate from time-to-time in making its decisions regarding the awarding of Dux scholarships.

Entry scholarships

The McDonald College offers a limited number of scholarships to talented students at key entry points across the school. All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the College following audition and academic assessment.

Annual Performing Arts Scholarships (Years 5 to 11)

Held at the start of each year, this is the primary scholarship round. Scholarships are available to external applicants entering Years 5 through 11 and cover Classical Ballet, Dance, Acting, Musical Theatre and Music. Scholarships provide a partial reduction on tuition fees and are offered to students who demonstrate exceptional talent alongside strong academic commitment.

Elite Tennis Scholarships

Any scholarships for tennis applicants are at the recommendation of our partner, the Voyager Tennis Academy and are subject to academic testing. The final decision lies with The McDonald College.

Ann McDonald Scholarships for Current Students

The McDonald College Dux of Years 7 – 11 are each eligible for a fixed-sum academic scholarship based on their overall academic results and achievements.

The College uses assessment and examination results and other appropriate criteria to make its decisions regarding the awarding of Dux scholarships.
