Joining our Elite Masterclass Series teaching faculty in April is Dimitri Magitov from the John Cranko School, Stuttgart Ballet. His career highlights include working for the Moscow State Theatre before joining the Stuttgart Ballet. He now teaches at the John Cranko School, which focuses on training classical dancers. It is also one of the most renowned ballet schools in the world. This will be Dimitri’s first time teaching in Australia.

In its third year the Elite Masterclass Series gives the opportunity for local, interstate and regional dancers to experience the teachings of renowned industry practitioners. What do you enjoy most about working with young dancers?
I enjoy sharing my life experiences, knowledge and love of classical ballet with my students.

Can you tell us about your time working with the John Cranko Schule?
I’m really happy and feel very proud to be a part of John Cranko Schule family. For me, to be a teacher in this school means carrying the full responsibility for the future of many young people lives.

Will this be your first time teaching in Australia? And what are you most looking forward to about working with aspiring Australian dancers?
Yes, it will be my very first time teaching in Australia. I hope to be able to give all my passion and love for dance to the younger generation, as well as introducing them to the beautiful world of classical dance.

What advice would you give to students considering international study at a professional finishing school?
My advice to students is very simple: just work hard, look forward and never give up on your dream to be a professional dancer.
