Dance Stream: Choreographic Evening and Beyond
Term 2 was an exciting and energising chapter for the Dance Stream, marked by the success of our Choreographic Evening (see images below). This event brought together student- and teacher-led performances that showcased originality, technical skill, and collaboration on stage. The Fraser Auditorium was packed with a supportive audience, and the atmosphere reflected the hard work and growth of our dancers.
A key moment of the night was the student-led choreography. Students took charge of their creative visions, leading, shaping, and choreographing each piece. These works showed not just technical ability but a real sense of purpose and teamwork. A big thank you to our staff, Kristen Hockley, Lorena Otes, Shayarne Matheson, and Charlotte Shinckel-Brown, for their dedication to making this possible.
This term, we also welcomed Choreographer and guest teacher Dani Evrat. Dani brought professional insight and a fresh perspective to our Senior students through high-energy Musical Theatre workshops. Her sessions challenged students to lift their technique and deepen their connection to performance and storytelling.
Dani’s credits include roles as Dance Captain in Cinderella The Musical, 9 to 5 The Musical, and WICKED on both Australian and international tours, along with multiple productions for Opera Australia just to name a few. We’re grateful for her time and look forward to working with her again.
Term 2 reminded us that anything is possible when passion meets opportunity. We’re excited to carry that energy into Term 3.
