What makes Kindergarten at The McDonald College different from other primary schools?
The McDonald College is one of the only independent K–12 schools in Sydney where performing arts is part of the school day from Kindergarten, not offered as an after-school extra. Every Kindergarten student spends 45 minutes each day in creative activities including dance, music, singing, and acting, alongside a full NESA-aligned academic program.
Do children need to audition to enrol in Kindergarten?
No. Kindergarten entry does not require an audition. Children are welcomed based on enrolment availability. Auditions apply to students entering Years 5 through 12 who wish to join a specific performing arts stream.
What does a typical Kindergarten day look like?
Kindergarten students follow a structured daily program that covers literacy, numeracy, and enquiry-based learning, with 45 minutes of creative arts activities and French lessons built into each day. Class sizes are kept small so teachers can give individual attention and respond to each child’s pace and needs.

The McDonald College is at 17 George Street, North Strathfield, NSW 2137. The school is close to North Strathfield train station and accessible via several bus routes. On-site parking is available for drop-off and pick-up.
What year groups are available in the Junior School?
The Junior School at The McDonald College runs from Kindergarten through to Year 6. Students in Kindergarten to Year 2 are in the Infants School, with Years 3 to 6 in Primary. The school offers continuity of education through to Year 12.
When should I apply for Kindergarten enrolment?
The College is currently taking enrolments for 2027 and beyond. Places are limited due to small class sizes, so families are encouraged to enquire early. You can register for an Open Day or contact the registrar directly to begin the application process.
Is The McDonald College a religious school?
No. The McDonald College is an independent, non-denominational, co-educational school. Students of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome.
What are the fees for Kindergarten?

Can I visit the school before enrolling my child?
Yes. The College holds Open Days throughout the year specifically designed for families with pre-school aged children. These sessions include a tour of the facilities, a chance to meet the Junior School Director and teaching staff, and time to ask questions about the Kindergarten program and enrolment process. You are also welcome to book a private tour anytime.
