HSC DESIGN & TECHNOLOGY: 2 SHAPE Nominations

We are proud to share that Angus and Max have been nominated for SHAPE, NESA’s annual exhibition that highlights standout HSC Design and Technology projects from across NSW. Only a small number of works are selected, so this is a big moment for both students.

Angus built a set of timber lights shaped as sculptural forms. His project focused on human‑centred and sustainable lighting. He also made his own bioplastics from fruits and vegetables to create coloured films for the lights. These panels can be swapped out, giving the design a simple modular system.

Max was nominated for a series of hand‑drawn children’s books paired with a stuffed toy. His idea came from his interest in music and his hope that young children will engage with music theory. He used Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences to support learning through reading, visuals, touch and sound. His project included two original stories in a hardcover book, a large teaching book and a teddy that plays music.
