A Tennis season full of strong performances
Term 1 has been a significant and highly active period for our tennis program, marked by strong representation across multiple competitions and a clear sense of momentum building within the squad.
The AICES Tennis Trials set the tone early in the term, with a large group of students stepping confidently into a highly competitive environment. Several players progressed to the next stage, demonstrating the depth of skill developing across both the boys’ and girls’ divisions. The internal match‑ups in the finals highlighted not only individual ability but also the strength of the program as a whole.
Across the term, students continued to compete in a range of external events, contributing to a busy and productive season. Ajay’s performance at the Nepean Cup and Nathan’s multi‑event campaign at the NSW Badminton Championships reflected the broader culture of commitment and cross‑disciplinary athleticism within our community. Their results added to a term already rich with sporting engagement.
The CIS competition provided another opportunity for the squad to test themselves, with players showing composure and resilience throughout the event. The progression of several students to the next stage underscored the consistency of their training and the competitive mindset they brought to the court.
And right before the term ended, there was one more strong result to be achieved: Matthew’s selection for the NSW team in the Pizzey Cup — one of the most significant school‑aged tennis competitions in the country. His performance at the Bathurst NSW CIS trials demonstrated the level of preparation and focus that has characterised the squad’s approach throughout the term.
Taken together, these events paint a picture of a program that is not only achieving strong results but also building a culture of steady growth, competitive readiness, and collective ambition. Term 1 has laid a solid foundation for the rest of the year, with students gaining valuable experience and setting clear goals for the seasons ahead.
