Year 11 Crossroads Camp: Building Confidence, Connection, and Resilience at Great Aussie Bush Camp

In Week 4, our Year 11 students stepped away from the classroom and into the fresh air of the Great Aussie Bush Camp in Kincumber for their annual Crossroads Camp — three days designed to strengthen teamwork, build resilience, and spark meaningful conversations about life as young adults.

Learning, Reflecting, and Growing Together

Across Wednesday and Thursday, students took part in two key personal development programs that form an important part of the Crossroads experience.

Love Bites, a respected relationship education program, guided students through discussions on respectful relationships, communication, and personal boundaries. These sessions encouraged honest conversations and empowered students with tools to navigate real‑world situations with confidence and empathy.

They also completed Module 1 of the Tomorrow Man/Tomorrow Women program, delving into topics such as identity, resilience, and the importance of supporting one another. Students reflected deeply on who they are becoming and what it means to be part of a community that lifts each other up.

Adventure, Challenge, and Plenty of Laughter

Of course, camp wouldn’t be complete without a healthy dose of adventure — and Great Aussie Bush Camp delivered.

The Commando mud run quickly became a crowd favourite, sparking plenty of laughter (and a lot of mud-covered faces!). Night-time Commando added a new level of excitement, testing teamwork, problem‑solving, and stealth under the night sky.

To wrap up the camp on a high note, Year 11 celebrated with a Halloween‑themed party, complete with costumes, music, and loads of spirit. It was the perfect way to bring everyone together after a busy and rewarding few days.

A Cohort to Be Proud Of

Throughout the camp, Year 11 represented the school with maturity, enthusiasm, and a genuine willingness to support one another. Their engagement across workshops and activities made this year’s Crossroads Camp a standout highlight on the 2025 calendar.
