Remembrance Day Ceremony

On 11 November, The Senior School Prefects led our Remembrance Day Ceremony with poise and strong leadership, guiding the school through reflections on the contributions of the RAA Nursing Corps and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander soldiers, whose service and sacrifice remain an important part of Australia’s history.

The assembly then moved into the solemn Rouse, performed with sincerity by Mia Honeysett, allowing students to pause and reflect in respectful silence. Following this, the Year 3–6 Choir, conducted by Mrs Sherer and accompanied by Ms Bermingham, delivered a moving performance of “In Flanders Fields” by Craig Cassils, capturing the emotion and significance of the occasion.

Our Music Stream representatives then presented a beautiful rendition of “Abide With Me” by Henry Francis Lyte, during which Junior School Vice Captain Abigail Kakala laid the wreath with grace and dignity, a moment that resonated deeply with all in attendance.

Junior School Captain Abigal Lee followed with a thoughtful reading of “We Shall Keep the Faith” by Moina Michael, adding depth and reflection to the ceremony. To conclude, Tanushree Christuraj confidently led the National Anthem, bringing the ceremony to a respectful and united close.

This Remembrance Day showcased the compassion, gratitude, and maturity within our school community.
