PDHPE Wrap-Up: A Busy and Inspiring Term

PDHPE kicked off Term 3 with a series of inspiring incursions from guest presenters. Daniel Principe challenged our senior students to think critically about respect, relationships, and the influence of media, while Sarah Williams shared her powerful story of resilience and overcoming adversity. To round out the term, Year 12 students completed the final module of the Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman programs with Kasey and Cole, sparking honest conversations about identity, societal pressures, and building positive futures.

Year 10 also had the opportunity to attend the bstreetsmart Road Safety Forum—an eye-opening event that explored the real-life consequences of risky behaviour on the road. Students were especially proud to see a video, created at school, make it into the Top 10 of the bfilmed competition, a fantastic achievement showcasing creativity and awareness. Congratulations to Ashleigh, Amira, Lucas, Sylvana, Amie, and Leila on their film titled One Second of Distraction, A Lifetime of Regret.

Meanwhile, Year 11 Health and Movement Science students took their learning beyond the classroom with a visit to the PhysX Exercise Science Lab in Cromer. There, they engaged in practical explorations of biomechanics and fitness testing, gaining firsthand insight into how science underpins elite performance and everyday movement.

One of the highlights of the term was the annual Dodgeball Competition. After weeks of lunchtime matches filled with energy, laughter, and some spectacular dodges, Helpmann House—led by captain Isabella Lazic—claimed the title for 2025. In a gallant effort, the outgoing Prefects defeated a select team of staff to win the staff-versus-student game. Congratulations to all who participated and brought their competitive spirit. Special thanks to Sports Captain Cayla Engelbrecht for organising and assisting with the event
