Mathematics Enrichment Program

Talented students of Mathematics, across Years 7 to 9 engaged in a series of mathematical challenges that extended their thinking beyond the regular classroom.

Two of the challenges, the Mathematics Challenge and the Mathematics Enrichment series aim to foster an understanding of the power of Mathematics in their world and an enjoyment of problem-solving. Over several weeks, students worked independently or collaboratively in groups to navigate some very challenging and unique problems.

The third challenge was the Australian Mathematics Competition. This event was first run in 1978 as a pen-and-paper test and is Australia’s longest running mathematics competition for school students. The competition is now run as an online test.

All problems are designed by leading educators and academics, and this Australia-wide program is brought to schools by the Australian Mathematics Trust.
