Heartfelt Moments in Boarding Life
It’s such a wonderful time in the boarding house. The kids have all settled in, found their place, and now understand what’s expected of them in the daily routine. Our supervisors have also had the chance to notice and appreciate the unique qualities each student brings to our community.
This is also the second-last term for our Year 12s, which means lots of “lasts” for them—like their final school photos and athletics carnival. It’s a bittersweet time filled with reflection and celebration.
Term 2 is always a big one for performance. Aside from our ballet stream, who shine in Term 3, this is when we get to see all our students doing what they love—on stage, in the spotlight, and giving it their all.
Our tennis boarders have been smashing it at tournaments, bringing home plenty of wins and making us proud with their dedication and sportsmanship. 🎾🏆
National Boarding Week, which falls in May, was a highlight—full of games, laughter, and heartfelt recognition of the love and effort it takes to build a thriving boarding community.
One of our boarders, Angie, shaved her head and raised thousands of dollars for the Leukaemia Foundation—a truly fantastic effort. We are so proud of her courage and compassion. 💛
In another touching moment, some of our boarders rescued a kitten and cared for it until we found it a home. They named it Little Tyann, after a very special boarder who had to return to Singapore. It was a sweet and thoughtful gesture that showed just how much our students care for one another. (And yes, they still kiss Tyann goodbye!)
This term, we also say farewell to our boarding supervisor, Rory, who has been with us for the past four years—first as a boarder, and this year as a gap-year mentor. He’s heading to the U.S. to continue his tennis journey at university, and while we’ll miss him dearly, we wish him all the very best in this exciting new chapter.
