DanceLife Unite: A Weekend of Passion, Perseverance, and Performance

Over the weekend (23-24/Aug), our talented dance students took to the stage at the DanceLife Unite Competition—and returned with outstanding results and unforgettable experiences.

We’re proud to share that:

  • Ms Lorena’s Contemporary group placed 2nd in the Small Group section.
  • Miss Charlotte Shinckel-Brown’s group placed 3rd in the Large Group section

Both groups have now qualified for Nationals, a fantastic achievement that reflects their dedication and artistry.

Behind the scenes, the journey to the competition was anything but smooth. The teams faced injuries, last-minute changes, and reworking of choreography and spacing. But through it all, they remained focused and resilient. Their performances on Sunday were a testament to their hard work, professionalism, and passion for dance.

Each routine stood out for its timing, technique, choreography, and teamwork. The students brought a fresh energy to the stage while staying true to the contemporary style that defines The McDonald College’s dance program.

This competition also offered a new experience for our dancers, with current industry professionals serving as judges—providing valuable insight and exposure to the professional dance world.

Congratulations to all involved! We’re excited to see what’s next as we head toward Nationals.
