Dance stream: Training, Technique & Triumphs
Term 3 has definitely been one of the busiest and most rewarding terms for Dance Stream. From the very first week, it was all systems go as our students dived straight into preparations for our upcoming showcase. Between learning choreography, refining performance quality, and rehearsing, they were well underway!
One of the most exciting parts of the term was working through mock auditions. While a little nerve-wracking at first, they gave students real insight into what professional auditions feel like. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to push themselves, step outside their comfort zones, and grow in confidence as both dancers and performers. The personalised feedback provided specific tools our students will be able to use to further their performing arts training.
A huge highlight of the term was the incredible lineup of guest teachers we had the privilege to work with. Felicia Stav (commercial), Meghan Cooper (ballet, jazz technique), Jess Innes (jazz, funk), and the Sydney Dance Company’s PPY team (contemporary), each brought something unique to the studio – whether it was new techniques, industry advice, or refreshing inspiration. Their passion and professionalism truly left a mark on all of us.
Term 3 has been very fulfilling. Our dancers are walking away more inspired than ever as we head into the upcoming Showcase for High Performance Week.
