Coppèlia

The Year 7 to 12 Classical Ballet students of The McDonald College are proud to present Coppèlia.

Set in a picturesque European village, Coppélia is a charming ballet that follows Swanhilda, a spirited young woman, and her fiancé Franz, who becomes fascinated with a mysterious girl named Coppélia. Unbeknownst to him, Coppélia is a beautifully crafted doll created by the eccentric inventor and toy-maker Dr. Coppélius. When Swanhilda discovers the truth, she disguises herself as the doll to outwit the inventor and win back Franz’s affection. Through cleverness, courage, and compassion, Swanhilda restores harmony, proving that love triumphs over illusion in this delightful tale of mistaken identity and youthful mischief.
