In-demand tech production freelancer travelling the world

The technical production stream at The McDonald College provided James with a fundamental understanding of what technical production is and gave him access to industry standard sound and lighting equipment.

After graduating, James landed a traineeship with JPJ Audio where he worked for the past 18 years.

He has worked with some of the world’s most famous bands and artists, staging concerts and festivals right across the Asia Pacific including the Foo Fighters, Deep Purple, Queens of the Stone Age, Green Day and Santana – to name just a few.

He has also been the system engineer or department head on numerous national and international touring musical theatre productions including Priscilla – Queen of the Desert, Fame, Hairspray, Annie, Grease, Dirty Dancing, Fiddler on the Roof, Aladdin and Frozen.

He says, “travelling all over Australia and throughout New Zealand and Asia has been a highlight of my career.”
