Sian Sherwood

Sian began dancing at age 4 in QLD studying Royal Academy of Dance Ballet, CSTD Tap, Jazz and Theatrical genres.

In 2010 Sian and her family moved to Sydney where she began dance training under the guidance of Mrs Joanne Simms and the Macarthur Ballet Studio, taking classes in RAD Ballet, Character, Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary.

Sian completed her RAD Grades and Vocational levels to Advanced 2, gaining a Distinction for each exam.

Sian has danced in many eisteddfods both as a long-time troupe member and soloist across all genres.

Sian began full-time dance training in 2016 with The Macarthur Ballet and Dance Studio’s Elite Student Program and the Joanne Grace School of Dance Part Time Program, whilst continuing her academic studies through Sydney Distance Education.

At the end of 2016, Sian was a Semi Finalist in the International RAD Geneé Ballet Competition, held in Sydney and in that same year, also successfully auditioned with both The Victorian State Ballet Company and Melbourne City Ballet.

In 2017, Sian moved to Melbourne to take up her place in the Victorian State Ballet’s Pre-Professional program. She danced in a number of the Company productions throughout Victoria and in Adelaide. She gained knowledge of the Company’s full repertoires of Gabriel, The Magic Toy Shop, Snow White and Cinderella. Sian was also part of the Victorian State Ballet’s Australian Premiere of Le Corsaire.

After returning home Sian successfully completed a certification in Progressing Ballet Technique and Ready Set Dance. She has also successfully completed her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies through the Royal Academy of Dance.
