Gilselle – the ballet

Giselle is a tragic story of innocent love and betrayal.

After falling for the charming Count Albrecht, Giselle (a lowly peasant girl) has her heart broken after discovering that he is to be married to a duchess. In despair, Giselle dances to her death from a broken heart and becomes a ghostly Willi in the forest. Full of remorse, Albrecht visits Giselle’s grave and is confronted by Myrtha, the Queen of the Willis, who summons Giselle to make Albrecht dance to his death. Still in love with Albrecht, she fights to spare his life and is saved by the rising sun that sends Myrtha and her Willis back to their graves.

Giselle has a running time of approximately 110 minutes including one intermission and is suitable for audiences of all ages. Patrons should note that theatrical haze will be used throughout this production.
