Reflections April 2022

Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to our new look and renamed eNewsletter, Reflections. Reflecting on Term One, I am proud of the way our community has come together once again and as always, there is much to celebrate

I must commend Evan Luc-Tran (Year 9) on his remarkable accomplishment in the 2022 World Maths Day, where he came 1st in Australia and 4th in the World – out of a staggering 308,138 students in 130 countries. We’re all so proud of you, Evan. Congratulations

Congratulations also, to our Prefects and Ms Douglas who put on our annual fundraising concert last month and raised $10,700 as a result. At an Assembly in Term 2, all proceeds will be donated to the Lillian Howell Project – a charity that accommodates young women experiencing homelessness.

This week, Channel 10 visited the College for an exciting live-cross featuring our Infants school, Vice-Captain Amelia Russell, the Junior School Captains Mia Honeysett and Jeffrey Dimi, as well as our Year 6 Buddies and Leaders. The students did some crafts, hunted for Easter eggs, and had a little boogie with the Easter bunny, aka Daniel Doodey from Studio 10. If you’re on Facebook, you can take a look here.

As the term draws to a close, we say farewell and thank you to English teacher Mr Con Raptis – and wish him all the best for the future.

Regardless of your beliefs, the Easter break is a perfect time to share with loved ones, make memories and get some rest in between the eggs. I wish you all a safe, healthy and peaceful Autumn vacation and look forward to welcoming you all back in Term Two.

Sincerely

Maxine Kohler
Principal
