In June 2017, Mojean was announced as the recipient of the 2017 Heath Ledger Scholarship, which was his third time shortlisted for the prestigious award. The judging panel included Naomi Watts, Ryan Murphy, Gary Oldman, Bruna Papandrea, Kimberly Pierce, Emile Sherman, Jacqueline McKenzie, Gregor Jordan and Ronna Kress. Benefactors to the program include the Ledger family, Michelle Williams, Hugh Jackman, Rose Byrne, Vince Vaughn, Phillip Noyce, Baz Luhrmann and Nicole Kidman.
He also recently premiered the short film The Suitcase at the Tribeca Film Festival. The project was one of the first to be a joint studio initiative sponsored by Disney, Universal, Sony and Amazon.
In 2015, Mojean played the role of a young Jake LaMotta in US feature The Bronx Bull, the story of the iconic boxing champion – a part first made famous by Robert De Niro in the classic Martin Scorsese film Raging Bull.
Prior to this Mojean played a lead role in the award winning human rights film Aban and Khorshid, which was the tragic true story of two Iranian men executed for their love. Amongst many accolades, the film won the American Filmmaker Award at the Cannes Film Festival and was screened for the United Nations Human Rights Council.
