Musical Theatre

The Musical Theatre Stream is our newest and most varied stream. It offers classes in Musical Theatre Repertoire, Dance in all its forms, Performance, Audition Technique, Drama Skills, History of Musical Theatre and Vocal technique, with both solo and group singing. It is aimed at preparing the student for auditions for either a Tertiary Education in the Arts both here and overseas, or more immediately for auditions here as they come to our attention.

Musical Theatre is currently only available to students in years 10, 11 & 12, as we believe it is important for students in their younger years to experience all areas of Performing Arts and have time to develop their skills base in singing, dancing and acting.

Performance opportunities are wide and varied and may consist of Musicals, Cabaret, and individual and group pieces.

As with all classes at The College, staff are drawn from the ‘industry’ and are either working or have been working in professional Musical Theatre for some time. Specialist Master classes are conducted by visiting International Directors, Performers and Legends in the industry.

Students wishing participate in this stream do not necessarily have to be competent in all areas, but need to have a strong desire to gain the skills required.
