Connor Erlin (yr 8) sponsors Orphan in Cambodia.
Here is a "FEEL GOOD" news story to round out a very positive 2008 at The McDonald College.
CONNOR ERLIN (yr 8, 2009) has been raising money by baking cookies
and selling them at local shops along with other activities to sponsor
a child at “The Karuna Children’s Centre” based in the rural district
of Varin in the remote north of Cambodia.
This week Connor and his Mother, Lee Erlin, have travelled to Cambodia
to visit the Children's Centre and meet the 64 orphaned or desperately
poor children (aged 5-15) who live there. Each of these children
have come from very impoverished local communities and have suffered
during their short life.
It's only through the generosity and support of people like Connor that
these children not only have a home, clean clothes, education and
medical care but a hope for the future and a chance to start to achieve
their full potential.
Connor has promised to take lots of photos and keep a journal of his
trip, we'll interview him on his return and post the full story next
week.
Connor Erlin you are definitely an inspiration to all of us and we're
proud of you.
