Sarah Roe

Currently a classical tutor at the New Zealand School of Dance. A certified Pilates Instructor; she is also a guest teacher with the Royal New Zealand Ballet, Douglas Wright and the Royal Academy of Dance.

Originally trained in Sydney, her training was completed at the Royal Ballet School in London. During her year at the school, she was a finalist in the Adeline Genee awards and awarded the RAD Solo Seal. She was invited to join the Royal Ballet Company at Covent Garden performing in the company’s extensive repertoire and also touring the UK and United States. On returning to Australia, Sarah worked with Darc Swan Dance Company before joining the cast of Phantom of the Opera as soloist dancer and Assistant to the Dance Captain.

She also danced with Opera Australia on a number of productions. Her Advanced Diploma of Teaching was gained with Distinction at the Australian Ballet School and is a Registered Teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. Before joining the faculty of the New Zealand School of Dance, she taught at the McDonald College and Brent Street Studios. In 2004, Sarah worked as Assistant Choreographer on the South African production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera.
