Mary Grotto Auer
Former Member of International dance Theatre Australia.
Mary Grotto Auer is an accomplished ballet and character
teacher and has taught extensively with her own school “Balmoral
Balletto”. Mary trained under Trixie Boss and Wendy Greenaway and
later joined the “International Dance Theatre of Australia” better
known as “Dance Concert”, which was under the direction of
Margaret Walker.
Mary had notable teachers such as Borsov for Russian, Jumawan for
Filipino and Cano for Mexican. She also staged productions and
directed the “Fogolar Furlan Balletto” group specialising in
Italian Folkloric dance. Mary took the group into the ‘Shell
National Folkloric Festival’ under the direction of Guillemo Keys
Arenas at the Sydney Opera House. Mary danced with ‘Fiesta’ and
later became a member of “Sydney International Dancers” which won the
1984 Adams Awards for outstanding achievement in International
Dance.
Mary brings to International Summer School 2007 her character work
and repertoire of Filipino, Italian, Hungarian and Russian styles for
the Junior students.
