Arcadio Carbonell – Madrid Spain:  Arcadio began his training in Barcelona in the Russian Vaganova technique. In England Arcadio trained with Dame Ninette de Valois, and also with the London Contemporary Dance School in Martha Graham technique.  His professional dance career spanned over many years.  While pursuing a professional dance career Arcadio also researched  traditional folk dance forms in Spain such as Flamenco and Escuela Bolera.  From 1970 he was Head Master and Professor of Classical Ballet at the Madrid Royal Conservatoire of Dance,  training students to become professional dancers, in Classical Ballet, Spanish,  and Contemporary Dance.

Arcadio has been instrumental in promoting education and cultural awareness to a new generation of young people interested in the Arts, and is in demand as a guest teacher and choreographer internationally.  He has created a training and examination  programme in Spanish Dance, “La Escuela de Danza Espanola”, this program enables people outside Spain to study and perform authentic Spanish Dance.

Arcadio introduced the Royal Academy of Dance in Spain and was a Member of the International faculty of the Academy teaching courses around the world.  Since 1994 has been a teacher and judge for the American Academy of Ballet in NY. He is the Artistic Direcor of The Roseta Mauri International Ballet Competition, which is held biennually in Reus, Spain.
