Tim Draxl: actor, singer, painter – is there no end to this man’s talents?

Tim Draxl studied at The McDonald College from Years 7 – 12, starting in dance before moving into singing.  As an actor, singer, and painter, there seems to be no end to this man’s talents.

Tim has been nominated for the 2023 Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Actor for his lead performance in the ABC miniseries In our blood. The series is a stirring musical drama about Australia’s radical response to the AIDS crisis in the early 80s.

Additionally, Draxl recently appeared in the 2023 Vivid Sydney Supper Club at Sydney Opera House. He has been called “easily our [Australia’s] best cabaret artist.” An earlier performance, Tim Draxl in Concert, was nominated for a Helpmann Award for Best Live Music Presentation.

In 2022, Draxl played Steve Healy in the Australian production of Jagged Little Pill.

In 2021 Tim appeared in The Newsreader, which achieved the most nominations of any show or film at the 11th AACTA Awards. Other television roles include Supernova, Tangle, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Serangoon Road, and A Place to Call Home, playing Dr Henry Fox for three years. The Shark Net garnered him a Logie nomination for Most Outstanding Actor in 2004.

Tim’s film credits include Swimming Upstream (starring Jeffrey Rush), A Few Best Men (with Rebel Wilson and Olivia Newton-John), Guardians of the Tomb (with Kelsey Grammer) and Blacklight (alongside Liam Neeson).

He is also an emerging artist, having recently held his first solo exhibition In Between The Act of Painting.
